On Wednesday, May 18th, a “New Era” of football will begin on the field at St. Augustine High School as the Yellow Jackets football team will play the Bishop Kenny Crusaders in the annual Spring Jamboree. This is the first on field action for the Jackets football team under the direction of new head football coach Brian Braddock. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. at Foots Brumley Stadium at St. Augustine High School. It’s been a little while since we have blogged a post to the website AustinReedFootball.com, so we will spend some time to catch up on what’s been going on with the St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets varsity football team this 2015 season. Since our last post about the win at Pedro Menendez High School to improve the Yellow Jackets to 3-0, the Jackets have continued their winning ways with victories over the Creekside Knights (35-17 (7-A)), the Melbourne Bulldogs (10-0 (8-A)), an overtime thriller against the Bartram Trail Bears (24-17 (7-A)), and a Homecoming blow-out against district opponents the Englewood Rams (45-6). The St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets varsity football team has improved to 6-0 (1-0), and has earned a #3 ranking in Class 6A in the State of Florida by the Associated Press.

Austin Reed is a 6′ 2″, 230 lb. redshirt junior quarterback playing college football at Western Kentucky University as of Spring 2022. Prior to WKU, Austin played at the University of West Florida and led the Argos to a National Championship in 2019. Prior to playing for the Argonauts, Austin played HS football for the St. Augustine HS Yellow Jackets (FL) and earned both the Florida Class 6A – 1st team All State QB honors and the offensive player of the year in 2017, throwing for 3,000 yards, 34 TD’s and leading his team to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the Class 6A final four. This led to a scholarship to play football at Division 1, Southern Illinois University for the Fall 2018/Spring 2019 season prior to transferring back to Florida to play football for the UWF.
