The St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets are on a roll into the playoffs:
It’s been quite a while since we’ve updated our Blog on the 2016 season for the St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets varsity football team and junior quarterback Austin Reed, #14. But as we head into week 10 of the FHSAA football season, the Jackets have produced a 7-1 record (3-0 District 4 6A). With wins against Pedro Menendez, Creekside, Melbourne, Bartram Trail, Englewood, Ed White and Nease High Schools, the Jackets have outscored their opponents 296-64. The Jackets defense is currently allowing a stingy 161 yards of offense per game (#5 overall in NE FLA), while the offense has respectfully gained an average of 379 yards per game (#9 overall). The Jackets only loss on the season occurred for the first game in a very close 21-23 loss to Baker County HS (5A), currently 8-0.
St. Augustine High School Junior Quarterback Austin Reed, #14, has progressed well though the first 8 games of the season. In addition to the quarterback responsibilities, Austin has served as the teams placeholder for field goals and extra points for kicker Elijah Ryan.
