Summary of first two games for the Fall 2012
The first game of the 2012 season began with a Powerhouse match up in the St. Augustine High School Football Stadium against defending league champion Murray Middle School Bulldogs. The final score of the game (41 – 0) does not show how well the Sebastian Middle School football team and Austin played on offense. Austin started the game at running back and middle linebacker. While the explosive Murray offense scored all of their points on a limited number of plays, the offensive time of possession was dominated by the Sebastian Eagles. Austin ran 6 times for about 25 yards and had a couple of tackles on defense.
The second game of the season was on September 6th against the Liberty Pines Academy Wolfpack football team, who pulled off a 22 – 0 win in a rain soaked game that feature Austin playing Middle Linebacker on defense and running back on offense. Austin was moved to long snapper for the punt team to give his team an added edge with the long snap. Austin also relieved Trevor Stevens at Quarterback in the 4th quarter after Trevor suffered a back injury during the game and had to come out.
