The Sebastian Middle School Eagles finish the year 7 – 1 against Gamble Rodgers

On Thursday, October 24th, the Sebastian Middle School Eagles football team finished off their regular season 7 – 1 against their local rivals The Gamble Rodgers Middle School Stingrays in a 32 – 6 win in a game that featured limited play by many of the Eagles regular starters.  Already clinching the #2 position in the St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association (SJMSAA) standings, the Eagles played a very conservatively called game and gave many non-starters the opportunity to get valuable game play experience.  Everyone shared time on the field and enjoyed the seventh win of the season heading into the playoffs as the #2 seeded team to play the #3 seeded Landrum Middle School Lions on Wednesday, October 30th at 5:00 p.m. at Plantation Park in Jullington Creek.

Austin Reed, #7, played a very conservative game at quarterback completing only two passes (1 for 3 yards for a 2 point – extra point and one for a 40 yard touchdown pass) for 43 yards during the 1 1/2 quarters of football he played.  On defense he had a terrific game during his limited time recording 3 tackles at middle linebacker.  The following videos feature Austins 40 yard touchdown pass and a nice tackle he made on defense.
