Austin Reed, #7, and the Sebastian Middle School Eagles improve to 4 – 1 with win over Landrum Middle School
Last Thursday (10/3), quarterback Austin Reed, #7, and his Sebastian Middle School Eagles Football teammates earned a great victory over a very strong SJMSAA (St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association) football team in the Landrum Middle School Lions. The game feature some of the most physical play of the season for both teams that resulted in three lead changes during the defensive battle. The final lead change came in the 4th quarter with Sebastian down 15 – 8, when quarterback Austin Reed threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to his wide receiver and then the offense converted on a two point attempt to move ahead by 1 point (16 – 15). The Lions had a chance with one last play at the end of the game when they completed a short pass that the receiver ran down to the Sebastian 2 yard line as time expired, giving the Sebastian Middle School Eagles the 16 – 15 win and improving their record to 4 – 1 on the season.
Austin Reed, #7, had a good game at quarterback completing 3 for 6 passes for 135 yards, 2 TD’s/1 Int (95.83 rating). Austin also recorded several tackles for the defense playing Middle Linebacker on a starting defense that has now given up an average of 1 touchdown per game. The next game is schedule on Wednesday, October 9th at 5:00 p.m. on the artificial turf field at Plantation Park in Fruit Cove, FL against the Fruit Cove Flyers football team.
