Austin Reed, #7, and the Sebastian Middle School Eagles football team improve to 5 – 1.
Last Wednesday, Austin Reed, #7, and the Sebastian Middle School Eagles football team traveled to Plantation Park in Fruit Cove to play the Fruit Cove Middle School Flyers football team in a battle for second place in the St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association (SJMSAA) standings. Playing on a rare Wednesday scheduled day, the Eagles came in ready as they scored the first touchdown of the game, followed by a two point conversion to take the lead (8 – 0). The Eagles continued their lead in the game to go on to win by a score of 22 – 13 to improve to 5 – 1 on the season.
At quarterback, Austin Reed, #7, played well during the game going 7 – 16 passing for 125 yards and two touchdowns, with many missed opportunities from the Sebastian receivers during the game. At linebacker, Austin recorded 5 tackles to assist a stingy defense that only allowed two touchdowns to a very explosive Fruit Cove Flyers offense.
The following videos features Austin completing a 45 yard touchdown to his wide receiver while playing quarterback, and a nice open field tackle on a back during a middle screen pass from Fruit Cove while he was playing middle linebacker.
