St. Augustine HS Quarterback Austin Reed earns All County and All State honors for 2017:
Catching up on the 2017 season accolades earned for St. Augustine High School (FL) Yellow Jackets quarterback Austin Reed. In late December, Austin was named by the St. Augustine Record as the St. Johns County 1st Team All County Quarterback and Offensive Player of the Year for the 2017. This was in recognition for Austin leading his team to a 12-1, final 4 appearance in the Florida Class 6A playoffs, and throwing for 2,925 yards and 34 touchdowns. This past February, St. Augustine High School Quarterback Austin Reed was named by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) as the Florida Class 6A 1st Team Quarterback and 2017 Florida Class 6A Offensive Player of the Year. SAHS Yellow Jackets Quarterback Austin Reed Named to the Florida Times Union Super 24
In December 2017, the Florida Times Union newspaper (Jacksonville) release the names of their Super 24 prep football players. This annual list is an honorable tradition to recognize the top 24 recruits of the 2018 class in all of Northeast Florida. The list is selected by Times Union Sports Editor Justin Barney with input from other local coaches and recruiting analysts.
St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets Quarterback Austin Reed (#14) was selected to be included in the Super 24 for 2017. In a ceremony at the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans game in Jacksonville on December 18th, Austin and the other Super 24 players and selected Coach of the Year, were honored on the field prior to the game. St. Augustine HS QB Austin Reed wins MVP honors at the annual FACA North-South All Star Classic
Looking back on the 2017 football season for St. Augustine High School (FL) Yellow Jackets quarterback Austin Reed: On Saturday, December 16th, Austin attended and played in the 63rd annual Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South All Star Classic held in The Villages, FL. Austin played with fellow Jackets player and long time friend Karim Brown (WR). Starting the game and rotating each drive during the game with QB Marquez Glover from Ocala Vanguard, Austin threw for 240 yards and 1 touchdown during the game. This helped Austin to be selected as the Most Valuable Player for the North team offense from the FACA coaches.

Austin Reed is named the Vystar All Star Athlete of the Week by WJXT, Channel 4 News in Jacksonville, FL
St. Augustine High School student athlete and Yellow Jackets Quarterback Austin Reed, #14, was named the Vystar Credit Union Athlete of the Week this past week (11/24) by WJXT, Channel 4 News in Jacksonville, FL. The award is given to high school, male and female athletes, who excel in the classroom and community and attends a high school in the Jacksonville television market. Austin was interviewed by Channel 4 Sports Director Sam Kouvaris, with the segment airing on the new broadcast on Saturday morning (11/25) and Sunday evening (11/26). St. Augustine HS quarterback Austin Reed is voted to the FACA – All District 6 Team and earns Player of the Year:
This past week, St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets varsity quarterback Austin Reed (Class of 2018) was named to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association‘s (FACA) All District 6 Team as quarterback. This included all classes of high schools located in Flagler, Clay and St. Johns counties in Florida and voted by the respective football coaches from these counties. In addition to being voted to the All District 6 team, Austin also earned District 6, class 6-A Player of the Year honors. St. Augustine High School Football Coach Brian Braddock announces Spring 2016 Player Awards
On the eve of the 2016 Spring football game Tuesday night (5/17), St. Augustine High School Yellow Jackets Football Coach Brian Braddock announced the recipients of the Spring Pursue Excellence Awards. 15 players received the recognition on the varsity football team. Quarterback Austin Reed (#14) received the Academic Excellence award for having the highest GPA of all players on the team. Congratulations to Austin and all of his Jackets award recipients in their Pursuit of Excellence. #PursueExcellence
Austin Reed receives his varsity letter as a freshman at St. Augustine High School
This past Tuesday, May 12th, Austin Reed received his Varsity sports letter during the 2015 St. Augustine High School Varsity Lacrosse banquet held to celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of the team. Austin is completing his freshman year at St. Augustine High School having participated on the Junior Varsity Football and Varsity Lacrosse team’s this year. Congratulations to Austin and good luck in Football and Lacrosse in the coming years as a St. Augustine High School Yellow Jacket.
Austin Reed acheives a perfect report card for the second quarter of his 8th grade Middle School grading period
We are very proud to announce that Austin Reed, former quarterback for the Sebastian Middle School Eagles football team, earned a perfect report card on his mid-term grading period in 8th grade. He earned the perfect straight “A’s” mark for the second straight quarter earning his grades in two advanced classes and two high school honors classes. He has now earned straight “A’s” in 8 out of 10 quarters to date as a Middle School student, included a perfect year in 6th grade.
Quarterback Austin Reed is selected to the 2013 SJMSAA All County Football Team
Sebastian Middle School Eagles Quarterback Austin Reed, #7, has been selected to the 2013 St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association (SJMSAA) South All-County Football Team. This is the second straight year Austin has been selected for this recognition as quarterback for the Sebastian Eagles football team. During the 2013 football season, Austin helped lead the Sebastian Middle School Eagles football team to a 7 – 1 regular season record, finishing as the #2 ranked team in St. Johns County, FL. Other season accomplishments include school records in the following:
- 7 regular season wins as quarterback (best by a starting QB),
- 206 total points scored on the season (most points by team),
- 804 total passing yards (most yardage thrown),
- 13 passing touchdowns (most touchdowns thrown),
- 13 touchdowns to 4 interceptions (highest TD/Int. ratio (3.25:1)
The SJMSAA 4th annual All Star game, featuring the All-County player selections for the North versus the South, will be played on Saturday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Plantation Park in Jullington Creek, FL. Unfortunately, Austin will not be able to participate as starting quarterback during the All Star game as he will miss play due to a broken thumb in his right throwing hand that occurred during the SJMSAA semi-final playoff game on October 30th.

Austin Reed excels off the playing field for the National Junior Honor Society
This past week, Austin Reed displayed leadership and success off the playing field by participating in the Sebastian Middle School National Junior Honor Society’s 2013 new member induction ceremony held at the school. Being a returning Honor Society member for his 8th grade year, Austin presented an essay on Scholarship to the 11 new inductees. Holding a perfect 4.0 GPA this semester and carrying an “A” average in the school’s honors program through his 3rd year at the school, Austin’s has displayed leadership at the school as an excellent scholar and scholar athlete with his youth sports programs. Austin Reed and five of his teammates make the St. Johns County Football All Star Team
Austin Reed and five of his Sebastian Middle School Eagles teammates have been named All Stars for the 2012 St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association All County Football Team. They will represent southern St. Johns County, along with all star players from Pacetti Bay Middle School, Murray Middle School and Gamble Rodgers Middle School, in a game against the Middle Schools from the northern part of the County (Fruit Cove Middle School, Landrum Middle School, Switzerland Point Middle School and Liberty Pines Academy) in an All Star match-up. The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 17th, location TBD.
